What You Could Have HadA Poem by T.A.RogersWhat You Could Have HadYou could have had the world You could have held the sea
And pain you would know not Every time you were unsure I would hold you in my arms until you forgot I would capture all the stars And place them in your hand. Only to make you happy, I hope you understand. I would place the stars For all the world to see I would have given you the skies During sunset as they fade If only you'd have stayed. I would have given you all the nations And dominion over all So you could visit
You could have had the riches of the world If only you hadn’t chosen him. We could have ruled all the kingdoms You could have had it all You could have had my heart. But one day you gave up my love And tore my world apart. I care not for these riches. I care not for earth and sea. Because my world is lost and hopeless ©T.A.Rogers 20040122
