Red Is All I SeeA Poem by T.A.RogersRed Is All I SeeThe anger boils, The blood in my head gushes, Making me stronger and stronger.
My teeth I grind, The emotion I bind, Only seeing red and fleeing dreams. My mind spins, The anger almost wins, And my sanity is tilting on a balance.
What would the consequences be Of opening the bottle of my rage? To let it out and lose control, To turn the key in its locked cage.
Love divine, peace sublime, and courtesy Have been torn from my soul. As the adrenaline sweeps, the anger peaks, And red is all that I see.
The years of shame as everyone's toy, To pick on, pick up, and drop at will. Treated as though I had no soul. As if my heart were still.
Now as I slowly give in, The emotion breaks through again. Trying with might to gain control. But the fury is too powerful, Gaining strength by the hour now, Until the emotion is pushed down in my soul.
Now the bottle breaks, And the cage is unlocked, And the angry beast is let free. The anger peaks, I lose control, And now red is all I see. ©T.A.Rogers 20030922
