As I Sow What I ReapA Poem by T.A.RogersAs I Sow What I ReapFeelings of foreboding. Emotion left untold. Hurtfully encouraging scolding, Nothing to behold. Fear is now a necessity, It consumes the air in my life. Flames consume the best of me Without a single light. As the air gets lighter I feel like I'm breathing stone. Consuming fire in a cold night's prayer. Righteousness that has gone wrong. My blood is shed without a wound, Reality I cannot tear. Paranoia knaws my soul. I'm running from what’s not there. Plagued by nocturnal daylight; Too much nothing fills my soul. Darkness brightly lights up the night Only emptiness to behold. Warm waves of moonlight, Darken what is impaired. Cheerful rays of sunlight Show me what’s not there. Spectres from sunny shadows, Haunt my awakened sleep. My tears are only dust As I slowly weep. Contradicting honest mind, Stillness in my sleep. Nothing can be mine, As I sow what I reap. ©T.A.Rogers 20030924 © 2008 T.A.RogersAuthor's Note
