Silent Requiem

Silent Requiem

A Poem by T.A.Rogers
"

I am opposed to giving descriptions of my work. A poem touches each individual in a different way and I feel that describing it or putting a personal meaning to it takes away from the beauty of personal interpretation.

"

Silent Requiem

Touched by a dark hand.

Walking in the dead of night.

She whispers misconstrued words:

Words of love, garbled and unrelated.

With a gentle touch,

As softly as the wind itself,

She kisses your ear

As she slides into your soul.

Tears you begin to weep:

Tears lost in the darkness of a winter night

As you feel what she feels:

Her pain hopelessly locked away in a lead box.

The emotions of her heart,

Flowing through your body like a river,

A great squall of torment.

And your soul shatters.

She is gone as a breeze in the night.

Alone on the pathway you weep.

Alone once again.

She is gone.
