Delusional Flu

Delusional Flu

A Poem by Jerusalem Cricket
"

Mental exhaust.

"
precious cargo

future
cartographer
born under the
smarts embargo
elapsed the
darkest todays
drawing up
maps to tomorrow
marvelously
carved into
the vertigo arms of
a virgo harpy who was
throwing stars
& blowing sparks
arched across an
Arcadian parking lot

thanks a lot.
thanks a ton.
thanks a million.

great ghostly
halos glowing
in the dark sun
grossly
frozen in the snow globe
where they spoke only
in slowpoke &
mostly broken
bone show pony &
gloat themselves tired
set the whole damn
show boat on fire
& yall can choke
each other out
over who blew
the most smoke
when both
sides overflow
with liars &
jokes of life alike

I hope

b*****d brother
winter knows
where he's going
with this
homey stoic
foaming
at the mouth
before it all
migrates south

but honestly
I doubt
each will make
their own way
before the
monsters
break out

"Vertigo Harpy." I kept picturing a harpy crashing into crap every time it swooped down on the Argonauts.

the first stanza is my favorite...line "arched Arcadian parking lots" definitely wasn't expecting that!

I love this line very much: great ghostly
halos glowing
in the dark sun

and the last stanza is extremely good. Very well written. :) Rudi

b*****d brother winter.

you're unflinching, Krick. Writing like this, like, two or three words a line - it can all fall to pieces so quickly.
your stuff never does. always like this awesome hole. waterslides.
