Animal EmpireA Poem by Jerusalem CricketClemens called us the lowest of beasts and I think he was right.
in every corner of this
godforsaken rock wrong has been executed under every brandished banner high in the 6000 skies ignorance crime is well alive and the people are barely breathing in the name of every god prophet incarnation blood has spilt & slithered through the streets preaching xenophobic hatred social norm slavery turning a sheepish cheek and blindfolded salvation immortality does NOT run cheap & immorality is free for your taking so I guess we're being heathens then reason & rationality bravely faced extinction thinking -sadly- didn't come as naturally as breathing & kindred of every nationality bore no clear distinction every face was erased by shame & pride & fear of the light and dark alike so they kept their eyes hidden til word got out about a new crucifixion & still only came around for the ooh girl no you didn't yes I did I was there & I saw & I'm right & you're wrong ...the cycle is sickening and the syrens were singing but no one bothered to listen so they started screaming hallelujah revolution viva six six six alert the troops there over yonder in the omnious red mist thought pollution looms we should be very very afraid of this we don't even know what this is but it may try to rape our kids so tear off its limbs and kill it with bricks what is a double standard it's called self defense the threat was not evident but was surely imminent and that's the damn fine end of it cause the things we don't accept as a shiny badge of merit or honorable stigmata we tend to not even wanna acknowledge &the s**t we don't acknowledge it just becomes forgotten we don't stop to ponder where we went wrong or what it was we missed -collectively- we can't accept it, won't acknowledge it, so we'll just pretend it don't exist. © 2014 Jerusalem CricketAuthor's Note
