Solace

Solace

A Poem by SolaceInMusic

Solace, what is it?
Solace as defined by the dictionary is comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness.
But what does that really mean?
How can solace truly be attained?
Is it just something that you can find, or do you have to search for it?
Can you just take solace in someone or something.
And if you take solace in someone, does it take away their ability to take solace in something.

Is there a right way to take solace in something?
Does solace have to be healthy?
Can you take solace in the rusty blade that sits on your dresser?
Can you take solace in the rope that sits under your bed?
Can you take solace in the ex that broke your heart, hoping that it will never happen again?
Can you take solace in the fact that the scars on your body define who you are?

Is taking solace in something really comforting, or just finding a way to hide beneath something
