About Last Night

About Last Night

A Poem by Sol_Corvo
"

Its more of a song I've been trying to hammer out its 6/8 time and I'd appreciate any technical notes on it

"
My skin burned last night
Not because we had a fight
Because there's no answer that is right
Maybe the lights were too bright
Maybe the music was too low
But I still wanted to dance slow
But then you wanted to go
I tried to stop and hold your hand
But then you couldn't even stand
Like the floor suddenly turned to sand
This part of the night I hadn't planned

And I couldn't help myself it all fell out
I'm always going on about
Things that make you wanna shout
And I didn't mean to pout
But for me hell is where you aint

I couldn't help myself you're beautiful
And the way you speak is musical
And everything you do is crucial
And I may be delusional
But I think I fell in love with you

Dont dare to touch your pretty wrists
Because I could come up with lists
Of reasons why you should resist
Because you are the best thing that exists
And I tired to dance with another girl
And then the room started to swirl
And I had to try not hurl
Because she wasn't you what's a rock to a pearl?
You walked up and we left the scene
But my conscious wasn't clean
Cuz in the desert I walk you're a canteen
I'm a peasant you're my queen

And I couldn't help myself it all fell out
I'm always going on about
Things that make you wanna shout
And I didn't mean to pout
But for me hell is where you aint

I couldn't help myself you're beautiful
And the way you speak is musical
And everything you do is crucial
And I may be delusional
But I think I fell in love with you
