Who are you?

Who are you?

A Poem by Sol_Corvo

I am fire
In the solace of night
I've no truer smile as I watch
The ashes of my skin, that burn like mad
As my own personal jailor, a cigarette light
Shoots pain up my arm causing a blotch
It burns less than you; and you make me sad
Because I've never had someone I love be someone I fight
So I reach for a bottle, bottoms up, scotch
And for a second I'm glad

I'm hooked on you and not anything else

But you're wrong about me, this time
For there is no beauty in this pain
I'm a slave to the devil and he wants my life
And I can't say I've committed no crime
But acid fills my throat like a chain
It cuts my words and causes nothing but strife

Now I am alone
There is no love
Because you are what I require
And I cannot atone
For who sends a crow to bed with a dove?
Because in the solace of night, I am fire
