Mystery Girl

Mystery Girl

A Poem by Sol_Corvo

Words about you escaped me till now
And even so everything's murky
But I know a bit about myself
And we can start with the dark and dirty

I fell in love with the girl over there
The sad looking one with the burnt copper hair
She sits all alone in the back of the room
But the pain in her eyes is in full bloom
Not everything's perfect for our mystery girl
But if I could I'd still give her the world

She's got a man whose miles away
She's loved him so long its almost cliché
But now its all over
Because he lied
And then she cried
They fought
They yelled
They screamed
Because everything goes wrong for her
And not everything's a song for her
And not everything's perfect for our mystery girl
But if I could I'd still give her the world

It's been a while since they last talked
And now I wish I'd been there all along
Because I thought she was beautiful
And since I'm being truthful
I thought that she noticed me
But not everything's perfect for our mystery girl
But if I could I'd still give her the world

By now your wondering where we are now
She's angry at me
Because of how it all went down
I never said I love you
Even though it was true
And I was too young to be with her
But nothing is perfect for our mystery girl
If I could I'd give her the world
Minus me
