Painting Orchids

Painting Orchids

A Poem by Kate LeFleur
"

a view of different artists & mediums. My first writing on here :)

"

How different is the poet's paper from the painter's canvas?  Or the Jeweler's Table.  The writer's story from the gardener's Orchids?

How different is the view from the Eye of the beholder or the Creator?  Beauty has been captured or created?  The passion is shared.

As your paint drips and my words spill, souls create and pass beauty through.  Orchids are written, passion is painted and love planted.

It's funny. I remember as a kid arts & crafts were always a coheisive thing, in the spirit of pure ingenuity. You could write a poem or finger paint, and either one would get hung on the fridge.

I got older, and learned that we've segregated these creative acts into one or the other, for instance I hear constantly that 'writing is a craft, not an art'.

And while I can understand this, it sort of pokes at something deep inside.

That creative source, and longing to release your own internalized vision of beauty on the world shouldn't be as catalogued as it is.

I love this, it reminds me that inspiration is one in all.
