Never AloneA Poem by Saskia LiddickA Poem inspired by "You Walk With Me" by Monty Python a musical, and for my friend Gadget when she was in a harder time of her life. This is for you Gadget. There was wind, there was darkness. I stood in a valley, grass wet with tears. I was alone, there in the valley of sorrow. I felt the wind, over my shoulder, whispering, “You are alone, here in this darkness.” I was alone, I was alone, no one with me. No one to stand with me in this valley, Where the grass was wet with my tears. I was alone, no one to walk with me. The air was cold, no warm breath for me. Then there was wind, wind that was warm, Caressing my shoulder, drying my tears. Drying the grass wet with my tears. I felt footsteps with me, I wasn’t alone. I wasn’t alone, someone was with me. Out of the valley, out of the shadows, Someone was walking with me. Someone with a smile that was the bane, of shadows, sorrow, and cold. Someone was walking with me. I was no longer alone, no longer in darkness. For you, my friend and angel, walked with me. © 2010 Saskia LiddickAuthor's Note
