A Poem by Saskia Liddick
"

I don't like the city I live in, but sometimes, the tiny things I can't help but notice, make me change my mind for a bit.

"

Moments like This

By Saskia Liddick

When the sun reflects on the Washington exit,

The slowly blooming trees beneath Suicide Bridge,

The traffic stilling on Front and Second,

It’s moments like this, that I love this city.

It’s the pot hole leading up Grabe Street I feel,

The seafoam splashing across the Star of India,

The music blasting from the dirty Volvos,

It’s moments like this, that I love this city.

When the sunset dips past the Coronado Bridge,

And birds sing their overture for the amber dawn,

It’s all the little things, that’ll make me miss the city.

It’s moments like this, that I can truly love San Diego.

San Diego is a beautiful city. I spend time there in 1993-1994 when I was station at Fort Ord, Ca. I like the poem. You made the city come alive with your words. A outstanding poem.
