Amazing GraceA Poem by Saskia LiddickAn agnotiest's (that's my religion) idea of God.Amazing Grace By Saskia Liddick Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. It was the faith I lost, but I had found. It was the energy that made my heart pound. This amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. Amazing Grace, how powerful it’s might. It was the hope that made me believe in you. The goad that made me read your word all night. We sat around the room that evening and prayed. I dug down deep into the bottom of my soul and, My faith called out to you in a plea that did now reach, Your ears. My father died earlier that morning. Amazing Grace, how strong it was to me, It was my Angel while I endured school that day. It made me call out to you when I was beat, In the toilet stall I prayed for you to save me, But you did not hear your daughter, you turned, A blind eye. Students murdered me that day in a bathroom. Amazing Grace, such a bitter racket. It was the faith I had, but I’ve lost. T’was what failed to save a wretch like me. Where is that amazing Grace now?© 2010 Saskia LiddickAuthor's Note
