Into infinite space

Into infinite space

A Poem by Softclouds
"

A little poem I wrote when I returned home, drunk, after a night wasted on chasing a love. In vain.

Staring beyond the stars
Into infinite space
Trying to recall
Your smile, your face
That first look
At that crowded place
How you said hello
And I couldn't make phrase
I just stood there
Numbened by your gaze

Suddenly you were gone
Left without a trace
I put on my jacket
To take up the chase
Went out alone
Into the nightly haze
And wandered around
In a freezing maze
Just to discover
We had gone different ways
And that I already
Had lost the race

Now I'm staring beyond the stars
Into infinite space
Trying to repress
What I cannot erase
