Stay With MeA Story by Sofi「♡」this is a short mini-story about what could have happened with another story of mineShe no regrets. Not once in her life had Layla been scared or doubt her actions. She was angry. Why? Why did everything come crashing down as soon as he came walking into her life so casually? Why was she so afraid? She... feared death. Vines crawled around her ankles, slowly raising up to her thighs as she struggled. Layla's bright crimson eyes flashed as she fought against the greenery. "Come on young blood... Show it to me! Just how fierce is the Black Panther?!" The old hags screaming angered her more. Dropping to her knees, Layla gasps for air as the vines began tightening around her abdomen. Her heavy pants quickly became desperate gasps for air. The Vines now covered her from toe to shoulders, the thorns digging into her skin, blood only feeding the cursed plants. This was it... She was going to die here. Tears built up and trickled down her cheeks. The fear and anger burned so hotly that she thought she was going to blow up into flames. Air... Her eyes began to flutter shut slowly as it got harder to move her body. "RESTRAIN HER! I WANT HER RESTRAINED!" Finally, her assailant came into view, the woman looked like she was over 100 years old, the saggy clothes barely covered her. Dolls swung from her belt. But that weapon... It looked so similar to Creighton's. Upon seeing the golden ax, Layla took a gasp for air. Trembling as she managed to grab a hold of the firecracker from her pocket and light it up. The sparks burned her clothes and skin. But it also set the veins aflame. The screech that followed made Layla wince as she slowly rolled onto her knees as the vines gave way. Holding the firecracker up high and with her other hand she picked up her dropped spear. The ninja was losing blood quickly. Layla was already feeling light-headed and weak. But seeing the ax, reminded her of her beloved who was out there. Searching for her. All she had to do was survive until help arrived. She just had to keep fighting until he came... Or until her thundering heart stopped. Clenching her teeth, Layla slowly stood up. The old hag was screaming in pain as her vines went up into flames, no doubt Layla was going to be at fault for a forest fire. "YOU! HOW DARE YOU!" The witch screamed, lunging at Layla, But Layla was already ready. As the woman was mere seconds away from cutting her into pieces, she took a step to the right, spinning gracefully and for just a few seconds the world slowed. The witch raised her ax, ready to slam it down on Layla's beaten body. It was now that a male arrived at the scene. The fire had risen around the two women, tree branches and vines were everywhere and impossible to get through. Creighton tried to move through the vines to get to Layla, not wanting to see an ax the size of her ownself sticking out of her back."LAYLA NO-!" He bellowed, but the vines held him in place. Not letting him run to her rescue. As the witch brought the ax down, time slowed for just a second for Layla. The woman slammed her right foot down, twisting her entire body to the right, the loud sicking crack as she pulled her ankle out of place on purpose. Barely dodging the ax that was slammed into the earth mere inches away. Anyone could easily block an attack from the front head-on. Now twisting around the woman, Layla sliced the blade of her spear across the hag's back, tearing the Skin and ripping off the belt with all the voodoo dolls. Using the last of her strength, the ninja stomped on the dolls before plunging her weapon straight through the witch's chest. Stumbling 2 feet away, Layla hadn't heard Creighton scream for her. Her heart was beating too loudly, her vision was cloudy as she fell forward. As the witch was killed, the plants turned to ashes and Creighton was freed. Rushing to his lover's side and barely catching her before she hit the ground. Rolling her over in his arms, the silver-haired couple sat there, resting for a moment in each other's embrace. "Crei..." Layla finally whispered out. Reaching a shaking hand up to touch his cheek. The Male looked down at her dull eyes that almost looked lifeless? "Layla just hold on a minute! I will get you back to Yuri!" He stuttered, picking the frail girl up with ease and sprinting off. A trail of blood following behind them. The shaking made Layla groan in pain. Her entire leg felt like it was on fire, the rest of her body felt like it had been tossed off a building. "Crei... stop.." Layla cried, tears seeping from her eyes. As she held onto the chest plate of his armor. The male took a second to glance down at his betrothed, that was a mistake. Tripping to the ground and dropping the injured girl in the process. As the duo hit the ground, Creighton moved to stop her from hurting herself more. The knight was already up and ready to resume his race to save Layla. Only for the female to grab ahold of his ear and pull as if he was a child in trouble. Groaning and hissing at the sharp pain, he glared down at her goofy yet tired smile. "I can feel it coming soon Crei, Let me...spend my last breaths in your arms," Layla said in a light-hearted whisper. Her fiance just stood there for a moment before he gritted his teeth and nodded solemnly, taking a seat at the base of a tree. Stripping off his armor and pulling the dying girl closer. He couldn't say anything. He had so many things he had wanted to say, but the goodbye was not one of them. Layla had understood this. Listening to his heartbeat as she smiled softly. An actual genuine smile that broke his heart. "Layla! Creighton! Where are you?!" In the distance, Creighton could hear both of their mentors searching for the couple. But he couldn't move from her side. " I am right here Layla, I am not going anywhere I promise." Tears dripped onto her shoulder as he silently cried. "Layla Ward, I know it was only an arranged marriage, but you will forever be the key to my heart. The one ninja who managed to steal the heart of a knight. I... I forever belong to you in sp-" Creighton had begun to whisper the words he had hidden deep in his heart. But Layla's eyes glazed over before he could finish. It had been 2 years since that night. Layla's dying words resounded throughout his mind: "I love you so... Find another to love" And Creighton had done so. He had found another girl that he treasured with all his heart. Standing on the forest edge, in front of the grave, he had built just for Layla with his world. "She lived up to her name you know? The Bleeding Panther, a fighter who is dangerous yet beautiful." He said thoughtfully, looking to his side as he smiled at the young girl beside him who had flowers in her hands. "I wanna be just like mommy! A warrior princess! Then you can be our knight in shining armor daddy!" Came the bright voice that had filled Creighton's world. Laughing to a small family stood there together. Not knowing that a silver-haired female sat on top of the grave smiling softly at the two. Creighton had done as asked, keeping a part of Layla with him until his death.
