//The blizzard I speak of in the story is an actual event sadly. I hope you enjoy my story. It's kinda a older story of mine.

Who wins...?
Iarnă with her bitter cold heart...
or Nikolai's warm love?

Everyone sees the snow during the winter. They feel the chill as they wake. Nearly all kids wish for snow days. Doing silly ‘charms’ and thinking that will help, like wearing their Pj’s inside out and placing a spoon under their pillow. Watching the night’s sky for a shooting star. And if they get that snow day…most kid’s suit up and run outside. Their smiling faces and cherry red cheeks as they build snowmen and create snow angels. Their joyful giggles as they play, while parents stay inside. Cozy and warm as they drink their hot chocolate. Their joy covers the bitterness and chill from the winter…If only they saw the young girl.

A single girl…her hair was as white as the snow before it is covered in footprints. Hair like silk as it drapes down her shoulders to her mid-back. Her skin is so pale…milky white. Her lips are cherry red. While her stormy blue eyes hold sadness and bitterness…but there is still a small glow of happiness. Iarnă... The girls name, Ah...its a beautiful name meaning Winter in Romanian. No adults dared to speak with the girl. She seemed so distant. Yet...they children loved her. Often they clung onto her. Their smiles bright and showing happiness and joy...just like when they played in the snow Iarnă always tried her best to make sure the children didn’t get hurt. She seemed to look sad if any of them slipped and hurt them selves on the ice. Iarnă also rarely bundled up. Just wearing a simple dress and boots along with a scarf......

Iarnă’s point of view~
I hum softly, watching the children play in the snow. Sitting on a near by park bench.  The thought of all the children at home with a cold grew and I began to tear up slightly. But within seconds my tears froze and dropped to the ground. At the same time it began to snow harder. Many parents noticed the sudden change in weather and quickly gathered their children and hustled home. I watch them all...watching them get home and cuddle by the fireplace.
Warming them up...Warmth...something I hadn't known for so long...

Perhaps 315 years? Yea...315 years, 1 month and 4 days since he left. Nikolai Laustsen was his name. Way back...he was the one who pushed past my cold and harsh walls and still loved me just like he loved the snowy winds. My heart yearned for him too...I loved him so dearly...But it was his love for me that killed him. If only he listened when I told him to stay away. To forget the girl who perked his interests. I told him to forget the girl with snowy white hair and pale white skin. To forget the girl who seemed so cold and distant...But he wouldn’t let up. Always holding onto me...Always around me. Heh...it is my fault he is gone...
I held his heart in my cold hands as he tried to warm and thaw out my cold self... But the cold always returns. Much harsher then before.

It DiDnT gO uNnOtIcEd...

Soon he would shiver while hugging me. Then it was he got less warm. Slowly I watched his fingers turn a light blue...turning darker as he stayed with me. I became rude...trying to push him away...The colder I got towards him he would just get worse. One day...He never came to see me. I was so confused and went to go and find him. After all...I loved him...

When I got there...There was one of those trucks that take away those who are sick...They were carrying Nikolai! My eyes widened as i hear them shout. The world began to spin around me.

"We are losing him! Quickly!”

I began breathing harder. He was going to leave...? I clinch my fists, watching them wrap him in blankets. Trying to save him from my harsh winter winds. Suddenly...one man stops after feeling his pulse.

"We were to late..”
He whispers, That's when my tears came. Rolling down my cheeks end freezing before falling to the ground and shattering like my heart. Screaming in agony, the men grunt trying to stay on their feet as the winds grew harsher. The icy winds knocking them to their knees. Snow began to fall heavily and quickly. A blizzard was hitting hard with a blast...
Dropping to my knees as I sob. Hugging myself tightly as I cried. It was my fault. Nikolai's body laid covered in blankets. His skin was deep blue...he died cause of me...His body still...frozen...

The morning of January 12th, 1888…

Known to be the harshest Snow blizzard in history. A total of 213 children died...plus many injured and still in critical care. That was when I became distant. Keeping away from everyone. That's when winter...become bitter and cold. No longer a fun season. One where people bundled up...afraid of that happening again...

That's when I lost all hope of love and became bitter cold...
