big tableA Poem by Nurhanne Hassan
There was once this big table
With lots and lots of chairs It started out with my chair And people kept filing in Some of them chatted animatedly Others wrote pain on papers and hurled them at me A few were listening to me The rest were too far off from my chair for me to see Time passed and one by one They started filing out Some of them left their chairs Leaving me in their company Others took theirs with them As if they never were I jerked my head up to look around No one was to be found I was surrounded by little chairs and lots of paper Only one was unfolded I opened it and there it was The sentence that was everything 'You're all alone' Now I have all the time to let this sink in I have all the time with the chairs wondering if I ever left one on somebody else's table. © 2014 Nurhanne HassanReviews
