Skin Flames

Skin Flames

A Poem by Carlton Rolle

The battle lies in the skin.

Seeping of desire and hinged to the floor.

Fire grows.

Between the seen and invisible.

Leaping wherever it chooses.

Eating will makes it stronger.

It’s host needs a leader.

The strength.

Passion to carry on.

Fighting for the love of hate.

These flames lick on.

Loving what it wants.

Burning what it doesn’t.
