"Who I Am"

This is who I am.

I am opinionated;

I make stupid choices;

I am young, but wise too.

I have a family;

I'm not willing to just leave

or die on someone else's terms.

This is my life

and who I am.

I will take the control

that you once had over me.

I take the control to propel

myself through life,

to become even better than I am.

For the daughter,

and husband that I have,

I must be the best me that I can

because without all of us,

and together with God,

we will all fall apart,

and die alone,

without those that we need,

and that truly need me.

I am glad you find it relatable. I want people to be able to relate to what I write. What I find sad is that this all came to me within 5 minutes. No editing or proofreading. Just a very raw impulsive poem. :)

Its not sad at all! Some of the best poems don't come from sitting at a computer screen all day trying to write something, they come from the moment, when your angry or sad or just plain emotional. I have a few angry-writing poems on here lol

Thank you for being the first to review this poem. I also have a story that I am working on. I am going to try to post a chapter a week for it...all the way through Christmas so I can give it to my husband for a Christmas gift. Then next year, I want to make him a poetry collection of some of my favorites, and some of the favorites that people have rated on here.
