As The Lights Go Out

this is my first poem

AS THE LIGHTS GO OUT...

out im smothered by darkness

and the demons come out to get me

i reach for my lamp shaking and trembling

when i feel a touch on my arm

i try to scream but fear chokes me

im left alone

"OWW! THEIR TRYING TO KILL ME" i scream knowing no one will come to save me

i gave up then...

the window opened and the light of the rising sun filled the room

i hear the demons screaming for nightfall again as they all die

i sigh with complete relief

but i know the will come back again tonight

For your first poem, this is pretty good. I think that the last three lines had the most impact.

I like this. It's kind of cute. try this... Another night is gone I could not sleep. And I know Other monsters are waiting for me in the shadows...lol I really enjoyed this.
