As the Crows Gathered By: Adam M. Snow
Surrounded by bodies of murder the flocking and squawk arose. Score of many rows on girder feast of death drew the crows. One to carry souls of many; one onto life beyond life. Yet was not the foe-of any- to leave this world of strife.
The crows they flock, they flock, they squawk; flapping their wings tremendously. They caw, they pecked, they grew many in score groups gathered more and more.
Blackened the sky with their endless flutter; "But what of this?" I utter. "My days are long now being nighted. The crows around have united."
Feathers falling, covering the ground with black; everywhere I look, it covers every crack. The thought of death surrounds us all before the crows, life will fall. The ominous bank of crows like a cloud, covers the world like an endless shroud. Leaving I, overwhelm with fear it is death lurking near.
The crows they gathered all in vast; all is dark than a shadow cast. They prey the lost and many more, time has come for death to bore.
*NOTE*
1) This was an experimental poem, I was changing the rhyme scheme throughout.
2) Not many people know this but 'murder' also means a group of crows.

*blinks* Wow. AMAZING!!!!!! I could see the crows, hear the crows. You're right. Crow are oven associated with death. A murder means a groupd of crows??? I didn't know that... :)
The crows they flock,
they flock, they squawk;
flapping their wings tremendously.
They caw, they pecked,
they grew many in score
groups gather more and more.
That just happens to be my favorite stanza. It flows like a song. I don't know why but it appeals to my attention. Also, another thing that appeals about this poem is that I've been reading books where crows are referred to as the Trickster God's servants.
I didn't know that a group of corws mean murder, but it does fit their nature. Since most people associate crows with darkness
Great write.
Well now I have to say I did knoe that a group of crows was a murder, and a group of ravens is called and unkindess! The piece itself, very well structured with a taste for the abstract and runing back, well done, good read.
