Love Me without My Mask

By: Adam M. Snow

Many years, I am who I'm not,

Life pass by yet myself I forgot,

Living life not as mine but mine.

Could you love me without my mask?

But it not be as divine.

The truth, myself I hid from you,

You know me not yet I know it's true.

I long for myself to fly and be free,

But I stand vivified and afraid,

The truth, haunting the very soul of me.

Love me without my mask is all I plead.

Not be the ghost but love I need.

I long for you to know the truth.

You deny my past, my future.

Cast me aside, I am uncouth.

Owe I relate in so many ways and so do other people. Truly on two people in the world seen my mask undone and nor one are my parents. You writing was very well written a wonderful flow relating to your reader helping understand your poetry well. Well done with your descriptions and all. Keep up the excellent work.

I almost get a strange backward sense of hope from this poem. As something is hidden, there is a hope that it can and should be revealed and there is a really strong feeling of that sense of hope in this poem. Its awesome :)

"Could you love me without my mask?" that one line is more profound than most people will ever care to admit--and it strikes home with all humanity more than we'd ever like it to. Nice work!

So many people wear masks and this is a great poem about that we should love a person for who he is, not for who he pretends to be. Well done, I loved it.

Such a shame we can't be our true self with most people. Well written. Keep on penning.

Hard to take off the mask. Sometime can't find the real face. I like the way you wrote the poem. Some questions need to be answered.
"I long for myself to fly and be free,"
Thank you for a excellent poem.

This is a true poem to the core. It depicts what many of us may face in a relationship or elsewhere when we are scared to show our true colors. Nice read. :)
