Tainted Flag
By: Adam M. Snow

What happened to our flag that once waved?
For this was once the land of the free and home of the brave.
Now the red is dripping yet the white has been tainted;
for the blue's been turned to black and the stars been separated.

Our flag once waved also freely;
now it's calm and even deadly.
Our nation's flag has been tainted;
now black is the color for which the stripes is painted.

What happened to the red, white, and the blue;
all the colors we all loved and knew?
I thought those colors don't run;
now it seems we're no longer one.

This flag was once worth fighting for;
now we've gone and thrown it onto the floor.
All our soldiers now died in vain;
now we lost all we gained.

Tainted is our nation's flag;
and the eagle left in drag.
The flag set at half mast;
for our nation who has passed.
