In the Doorway
Written by Adam M. Snow

In your doorway, I come knocking,
let not your worries be flocking.
I know your troubles, oh heavy-hearted.
I know when you're misery started.

Ev'ry day you feel it grow,
on the brink, such great low.
Still I wait, patiently,
till you answer the door for Me.

Don't you fret now My child,
let not your heart beguiled.
I have come to give you rest,
if you allow Me to be your guest.

In your doorway I stand before,
knocking, knocking at your door.
I'll wait here, patiently waiting,
lest not your sorrow abating.

Your door is locked,
yet still I knock
knock, knocking at your door;
still My child, you ignore.

I won't leave you,
nor forsake you,
during your raging war;
here am I at your door.

Are you willing, truly willing,
lest not My love fulfilling?
Open your door so I may come in
and I'll wash clean your ev'ry sin.

Knock, knocking. My love is true,
I am waiting in the doorway for you.

The repetition and rhyming worked very well in this piece. i find those tricky myself. Thank you for the nice, uplifting poem!

This reminds me of one of my favorite songs, "Knocking on Heavens Door". So appropriate too, for these especially troubling times we are living in. Very nicely written.
