In a sea of words, where writers drown, lost in their world's insanity;
The Writer
Written by Adam M. Snow
In a sea of words,
where writers drown,
lost in their world's
insanity; their own
blood's their ink.
Time has no limits,
being lost within thoughts;
a blank mind's their demise.
The writers they write,
escaping this nightmare -
the fear that is reality.
The blood they shed
is the words they dare dream;
the flowing of the ink, now empty.
This is a great poem I love how it really explains the benefits of writing. You say we can get lost in our thoughts and I love how you say writing offers us the opportunity to escape from reality. It's so true that writers block can be the death of us sometimes when we simply can't think of amytuing else to write and as a writer it can be the most frustrating thing in the world. Very nice poem!

Writer's we are our own breed. Without words forming in our mind we are lost and miserable creatures. We can sit for hours with nothing but words, pens, and paper for company because our characters our writing keeps us company and because they become our world for a few moments or hours umm maybe even days. I get lost in writing like I get lost in a great novel. I love the words in your poems and the descriptions you have written.
Fascinating stuff. I hate writing sometimes because it literally sucks the life from us. But equally I hate the thought of the day arriving when I have nothing to write, or can't write. What a moment that is for any writer. Some might celebrate their freedom from a curse. But most of us will regret that an important part of our lives is over. And then what?
Very nicely written, Adam. This poem will resonate with many, as we've all felt this way when writer's block hits. Definitely looking forward to reading more of your work.
