I see a Flower
By: Adam M. Snow

I see a flower, weltering in this midst summer's heat;
a tragedy of beauty lost.
It goes untold the innocent that once lied,
a beauty trampled by man.
For whatever it was, a rose or a sunflower bud,
it was short lived, a tragedy.
Should that flower be left to welt away?
Perhaps, or perhaps one day it will bloom anew;
a new beginning with colors like the heavens.

Amazing description brought to life the death of the flower. The flower is tender and beautiful. Can cause hope and happiness by her blooming. I did like the hopeful ending. We do need flowers. Make us know rebirth and the beauty of nature. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Nothing new to say. It is as good as ever. A tragedy for the flower. I wish it'd be longer. A good poem

I enjoyed this very much. There is such beauty in the perennials, each year dying to become fuller and brighter year after year. I love how you metaphorically conveyed this hope of springtime everlasting.

The cycle of life is always destined to come to an end. I like the picture, it really adds to this work.

The lament of all that lives - it will wither away. Great analogy, vivid imagery. I like the end note of hope - perhaps there will be rebirth...

Hi Adam. A good write and lament about this withering flower due to excessive heat. Heartfelt. Well crafted free verse which I enjoy. Imagery is good as are the descriptives. You paint a vivid picture of this loss of life due to the elements that any reader can see in their mind's eye. Flow is good; line to line transition and breaks are done well. Nice rhythm. Nice use of simile. Lovely depth of feeling with a glimmer of hope that it will one day bloom again. Good word choice. Well penned and a good read. Write on!
