Writer's Block
By: Adam M. Snow

I am lost without inspiration;
I cannot think, my thoughts are empty.
A sudden expectation
of words I cannot see.

I try that I must but I cannot write;
the ink in my hand, an outspoken sanity.
No inspiration, not of the night;
I am lost to insanity.

The best way I know to help an author break an emptiness is to have them speak of their current life.. read more
That often happens, but sometimes emptiness can give some inspiration. And this poem is definitely proof of that! Wonderful piece, I truly loved it!

no problem!
I actually will be watching TV or something like that and get lines to put in what I write. I have a notebook full of them. After I use one I just put a little X beside it. When I don't have any ideas I go back and look at all the stuff I have written down and usually that gives me inspiration. Also what I find to help is if you have old stories or poems or something like that that you wrote a long time ago and never published or put online, you can look back on those. I hope I helped :)

You've created something that every writer feels at one point or another. I like it. Thanks for putting into words the weirdness of not being able to write when that's the one thing that you need to do.

That horrible affliction! Best overcome doing what you did: writing. About it. Sometimes the lack of inspiration can become one. Nice poem proving that something good can come from it after all.
As for other inspirations - they will come back after a while, I am sure of it!

Welcome :-)
Yes I can relate. My tricks to snap out of it are to watch a favorite movie, listen to music, look up at the sky, or just write down my frustrations...sometimes I discover a new character that way and they are the ones telling me their issues. lol :D But hey, great write, friend. You're an amazing poet and all the inspiration will come back I know it.
