Falling Castles

Falling Castles

A Poem by Snow412
"

his is about the empires of the mind that have been broken, and are falling apart. This is also 4 years old, so any critique will help to better dress the idea.

"
The clear castles of the eyes are built upon sorrow"
a sense of brokenness,
and like everything else,
they fall.
Their cause falls with them,
like the clouds’ rain from the sky…
and they break upon the dry, cracked earth
trying to mend all the death and decay all around,
trying so hard to rebuild the broken walls that once stood so high…
these fallen Empires of the mind.
Their reasons fade into the past,
and remnants of their glory are forgotten.
I don’t know why they fall so hard
and shatter.
I don’t know why I can’t capture them
and hold them in my hands.
I can’t save them.
I must try…
They are the needles of my pain
and I shed them like old skin…
They merely whisper as they hit the hot pavement
and they are fallen empires once more"rubble.
They fall, twist, and break"
their existence is lost to a history unwritten.
There is no other way to shed the pain,
for they are torment’s escape.
They are born of the mind,
but they are clear castles building in these eyes"
Meant to forget the walls once built so high…
They find rest in the midst of their certain fall,
a golden moment buried by Time
and decayed by the passing of Memory.
