A KNACKERING EXCURSION

A KNACKERING EXCURSION

A Poem by Sunshine G

In this world full of heartbreaks

In this domain of woe and distress

The delighted heart slowly numbs

As the sane mind deteriorates

Dreams they say are motivations

Drive to keep us going

Yet, what are dreams without passion?

A mere piecemeal avowals

Every day I wake up

I found myself dying

My ocean of melancholy

Pulls me down to slumber

Where could I go?

Where can I find?

Seeking a harbor for my soul

Needing a place to feel forever joy

Where could it be? I never knew.

Living a life I never dreamt

Breathing the air I never wanted

Makes me want to pause

And shut my world inside

This for a cry for help poem. From someone who needs a purpose and destination to thrive to live as Feeling of deep depression and darkness is consuming them in this poem. A light has shone in this poem. As your words and emotions reach out to others in this same situation who feel lost and need courage and faith to have goals in life to reach. Your poetry is one useful tool to help you aid recovery from the dark and move on with your life in good ways.

Sadly, there are many writers who pour out a sense of hopelessness, similar to the one delivered in your message. I'm sorry for you & others to be feeling this way, but I'm glad you can express yourself creatively, even when you're in the grips of a dark mood. This doesn't feel like a dump of bad feelings, becuz you craft your lines into imagery that SHOWS instead of tells (first rule of good writing). In my youth, I had only dreary things to write, but I promise someday you will clear all the junk out of your channels & then the pure truth of who you really are will come pouring forth! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

thank you for that very encouraging review Margie..
This is the first of your poems that I have read, and having now considered your words, I sense a feeling of insidious hopelessness.. I hope this reflects your skill as a writer and is not indicative of your current mood... however, if indeed it is the latter.. I am sure that things will change, and improve.... I am also sure this will not be the last of your work I visit.... All Good THings, Neville
