A ROSE IN HER CLOSET

A ROSE IN HER CLOSET

A Poem by Sneh
"

Some Glimpses of her birthday.

"
She desired to celebrate rich way,
as it was her 18th Natal day
Dazzled eyes, shimmered dress
Upon it, the best was 'grace'.

All wait was over, as he came closer
Holding each other's hand headed to the venue,
Clapping hands, wishing lips were of no new.

On a sudden, he lifted the rose and revealed to her.
She, giving broad smile on gleeful face,
Thanked her 'Brother' for wonderful remembrance!

Now, she is twenty eight,
managed somehow to keep the Rose in her closet!

This portrays the situation of most of the people. The more number we add to our age, the more people get subtracted from our life. And the term birthday that used to be the most stirring moment for us, starts to be the most dreary moment. And the only thing we are left with is the rose that symbolizes nothing but those memory that we get from the day. Greatly penned with a very smooth rhythm. Loved it.

This, although simple, speaks in so many words. It's always those little things that we keep in our memory and our hearts for the rest of our lives. Good job, bro.

thanks for another ROSE , i am glad that you liked it....have a blissful day!!
Imagery is wonderfully crafted and the “Rose in the closet” invokes a deep subconscious sentiments which communicates the sense of longingness among lot is others things.

Help me understand this, words like “came closer” and ‘brother’ makes me feel that the narrator was termed into being a brother rather than being an actual brother. Would I be completely wrong in that assumption? Help me with your insight please

Thanks for the lovely visit Valormore. :)
Nicely expressed, about birthdays. Just being a number. And the remainder of her 18th was this rose. The passing of time. Sadly comes to us all.

A ROSE IN HER CLOSET'
Sneh,
Family is such a wonderful thing; people we know all of our life. This poem seems to be the remembrance, the cherishing of this important relationship between sister and brother. I have two brothers. They are so dear! The rose gives a hint of the gift that this special type of love is. The rose of memories, of the desire to continue to honor and love.
blessings,
Kathy

Sometimes its tokens like that rose, discovered again that can make us thankful for our past and have a definite impact on our future character. This was a wonderful tribute to a brothers token and a wonderfully written poem.

This is touching, it derives the value of holding on to something. Memories are precious, sometimes even the best fade away, it's often important to have reminders, triggers to keep the flame going. Good write
