Autoparalysis in the Mind of KinesisA Poem by Akira Kodama
Pour on wounds
Disinfect Wipe away Stitch me up. I've been healed By warm embrace Coldness prevails Leaves a bitter taste. There's comfort in being sad But with happiness, you always need to look out for disappointment. When you're already sad How much worse could it get? Surely it will make little difference. When you hit rock bottom, can you break through the ground? Liquid flows from this syringe Through my veins Into my blood There is no escape Only a mask. A wounded mind can be mended with medication Only to be subjected to the horrors that await you once more Personality is gone Eyes, drooping What do I see? A world of grey Colors have left me Life itself, nowhere to be found Trotting through Do the motions Day to day Hour to hour Until I slip into unconsciousness And find myself in a world of wonder, soon turned terrifying My love, not my love Alone in a world, where everyone is just "there" Can I find peace? Solace? Do I even desire? I'll just stay here Until it's time. © 2013 Akira KodamaFeatured Review
