Talk To Me Alvin

Talk To Me Alvin

A Poem by Becca
"

A bit of musing about my buddy Alvin who is at least 50 years old.

"

Whisper shared secrets

of nights long ago

When we snuggled tight

in our innocence so

~Talk to me Alvin~

Unlock my lost feelings

mournful days gone by

While you listened intently

and absorbed lonely cries

~Talk to me Alvin~

So many tears

soaked your grimy chest

You alone seemed to notice

I tried my blackbeariest best

~Talk to me Alvin~

My mangled companion

now blind mute deaf friend

A faithful companion

clear through to the end

~Talk to me Alvin~

Where might you abide

when I'm laid to rest

In an attic imprisoned

in an old musty chest ?

~Talk to me Alvin~

This is so great. I still have Tebby, he resides in the basket at the end of the hall, sitting sentinal to our bedroom doors!!

Oh how wonderful. Like Ron and like you I too have had those relationships. But perhaps they were not so inanimate after all. Perhaps these items that have meant so very much over the years were actually imbued with the spirit of another ... come to visit. Beautifully done.

I really like this. I've had strong attachments, relationships if you will, with inanimate objects. Neat poem.
