The Lady Fox

The Lady Fox

A Chapter by Smokey

1 year later, the sounds of footsteps followed the sounds of the clattering heels. “Stop!” yelled the officers trying to catch up to the lady fox. She merely waved the emerald in front of their faces her mouth slid into a smirk murmuring the words into their ears until sprinting right past them again. “Catch me if you can,” the woman in her slick black suit sprinted down the hallway slipping off her heels on the way to silence her footsteps.

She put her hair up and quickly and pulled out her make up pouch. The officers voices and footsteps were coming closer but she didn’t rush. She took off her ruby red lipstick and added some foundation at certain points to round her face. She did her eye brows filling them in with a beige and brown. Giggling when the officers began wondering were too now she slipped off her black suit and pulled on a suit which all the other officers wore. Their clattering footsteps were right around the corner when she smiled and whispered “Show Time”. She purposely ran into the other officers looking exhausted and out of breath. “She, she went that way!” The disguised said pointing downstairs where she knew it was a dead end. “We got her now, that’s a dead end!” cried the leading officer. “Good work sergeant!” Let's go cuff the lady!” The officers ran down to the basement followed by the fox. As they reached the only door which lead to the basement and ran in. The fox removed her make up and told them in a disappointed tone “I expected better of you officers” The lock clicked from outside and the banging of the desperate officers soon went mute as she walked up towards the roof. She felt relieved as she held the jewel in her palm. “Lots of trouble for that little thing isn’t it? Are you sure a lady like yourself should be doing that?” said a deep raspy voice. Startled the lady almost dropped the jewel, she quickly slipped it in her pocket not allowing him to see he startled her. She looked up and saw a tall man with dark brown hair. He had eyes as dark as midnight with a tint of brown. “Who are who? I’m pretty sure I got rid of all the officers.” She asked curiously

“Oh you compare me to those dimwits I don’t believe I’ve ever been that insulted sweetheart.”

“Don’t dodge the question.” she replied snappily

“Oh I wasn’t, but I do believe it is only proper to introduce yourself first.”

“Oh you are not getting my name that easily now if you may get out of the way I really must be off. A lady thief such as myself would be in a lot of trouble if i was caught.” She tried to move past him but he stood in her way. Everytime she jerked to the left he was in front of her. She tried to run past but just banged into his chest. He wrapped one arm around her waist and the other lifted her chin. Her stomach was fluttering and she couldn’t mutter a world. She was enticed and encapitated. He just smiled as he felt her pulse rising with every second. Then he muttered “What type of inspector would I be if I let the famous lady fox steal yet another jewel under my watch.” With this she snapped back into reality and jumped back out of his grasp. He thought he was read for her and got his cuffs out yet he never would expect to his him for her escape. She jumped on the rail of the stairs and jumped onto the inspector’s shoulders and quickly flipped off. She sprinted up the stairs until she reached the roof. on the top of her roof waited her ride it was a nice small jet. She made sure to land it where it was not visible from any security camera or guard. She hoped in and right before she took off she saw the handsome man once again. He stared in wonder at her. “Good bye Jack Lightstring. I’ll be sure to call” She blew him a kiss and she was off. He was very confused of how she knew his name. Then he realized. His pen and business card was missing and instead he had a paper with the number ***-***-**** xxx ~Jade Fox written on it instead. He didn’t even begin to think how and when she was able to do that but instead looked forward to meeting her at her next heist.
