The Boy Who Never Lived

The Boy Who Never Lived

A Story by Shawn King
"

A boy goes back in time to save a mother he never had but always had.

"
Hello my name is Shawn if your reading this, I don't really exist other than this note I wrote. Let me explain...I was a boy who grew up in an abusive home, my father was an alcoholic, who beat his mother and me, I watched her suffer, and as I grew older, I swore to my mother I would save her. I worked hard and at the early age of 16 I finally did it, I made a time machine. I went back to the time when my parents had first met, I saw him looking at my mother. I decided to go over and talk to him, I distracted and persuaded him to go elsewhere. As he left I went over to my mother, she looked at me with a smile I fondly remember, with tears in my eyes I hugged her as she looked at me and said, you're a good man, never change who you are. I looked at her as she walked off into the distance of an old memory, as tears rolled down my cheeks, as I faded out of existence...I smiled and whispered, You're free Mom...You're free.
