You should knowA Poem by Ashley Jordan
What do I do?
What should I say? How do I act when you push me away? Your anger, frustration, depression and rage have me backed in the corner, I'm locked in a cage. And across the room from me. I see. It's the same for yourself. It's a shame. I feel I'm the one to blame even when I'm not. You won't open up, I don't know what to do! Retaliate or cooperate? How do I comfort you? That's all I want. Because your wave of emotions pulls me under too. It drowns me and chokes me until I become blue... In the face, just talking to you and and the brick walls you encase- yourself in. I need to understand. I try to compromise. I try to realize the struggles you are facing. I only wish to take your pain. To ease it. Relieve it. You should know, you never have to be alone. You're the only one forcing yourself down this road.
