You had me

You had me

A Poem by Ashley Jordan

The light in your eyes
shines so bright.
Dare I say, it puts the stars to shame.
The secrets they hold
are a bittersweet plight.
In these eyes I've seen
Heaven and Hell
And dear, the deepest of blues
hide them both so well.
I've seen these eyes laugh,
and I've seen these eyes cry.
In those eyes I could see
the rest of my life!
And now I only see
traces of what used to be.
I used to get lost
in the love that pooled in your eyes
but to see a glint of that now,
Is to my greatest surprise.
Some days, I want you back so badly
but then again....
you had me.
