I played the loner

the loner is me

my lady left me 

for another you see

I play the loner

I was lost in love

with the first woman I had

She kissed me and I was so lost in love

there was no turning back

Now that she left me for another

in love three is a crowd

I was the third man out

I walked away without a shout

We had some loving

We had some fun

We have 2 daughter's

That made loving fun

But then the third person came into her life

I left with no excuse 

I just felt the pain

and took the blame

They call me the loner

I don't see eye to eye with women

I had a home wrecker

She make a mess out of my life

I lost my home my family and my wife

Now you know why

I'm the loner

I did not stretch out my hand to another maiden

My heart grew cold inside

I gave it away once 

and I will never do it again

Could there be an honest woman

out there for a loner like me

We would have to change a few things about me

My heart would have to be open to receive

a love from a fair maiden like she

Maybe I can get out the broom

and sweep her off her feet

Haven't been doing any courting

since my divorce
