The Squirrel

The Squirrel

A Poem by SmittyJas

The Squirrel what a creature in nature
a scavenger for food and storer of nuts and acorns
I like to watch them run in mating season
they chase each other around the trees

Wonder who is chasing who and just who is trying
Not to get caught up in the trap set for the Mrs Squirrel
I'm sure the Boys make a big deal every spring
When it's mating season and they are out for sport

Eying up every female in the pack
Chasing is just half the fun of getting there
Is the frosting on the cake
When Mr. Meets Mrs. and offspring is near

Little Squirrels do have a habit of growing upon you
Cute little furry ball of fuzzy tales Squirrels
Like the one you see here in this photo
