Reading Is FundamentalA Poem by SmittyJasBack in the sixty's reading is fundamental was the battle cry
To get the child to read and take them to the local library Take out a book or two and read all summer long Our loving parents made sure we did this We had no computer's with books on them We needed the local library to support our reading habits Summer was a long vacation not to be reading a book or two To keep sharp on our lessons in school Loving parents I had two respected them Yes I do There lessons in life was quick and helpful They were wise parents and for that I am ever grateful It was those summer time lessons that keep my interest In the reading is fundamental program the Government Had planned for the Children to learn To read faster and more excitingly Yes with out these Government programs Just maybe I wouldn't of learned to read quit as well and do as good as I had in school and advanced at work supporting my family the way I did © 2015 SmittyJas |
