It's a cold night for me and old BlackA Poem by SmittyJasTwas an old song about me and my dogThe adventures of me and old black By Jim Smith It been forty years since Me and old black roamed the meadows outback through the hill and the valley we did roam Never a dull moment we shared It was me and old black a very good pair My love for my Dog grew every day When all we had was a stick to fetch while we were at mire play Back then at Age 12 or 13 Me and old black were one in the same Never a day when by we would separate A day on an acre of land Room to run some woods out back A creek a lake was only part of the fun Me and old black our world just begun Walking on pathways down to the river bank To watch old black run throughout the waters Testing his doggie paddle skills Keeping his head above water Me and big black would be friends for life Just one look in his eyes and you knew everything was going to be alright We had fun down by the old swimming hole And the day he saved my life I would of drown if not for big black pulling me to safety I gave him all the glory that night When I didn't let him leave my sight He got his big hug with all of my might He was my big black angel in the middle of the day He saved my life its been forty years since his passing And I'll never for get Big Black © 2015 SmittyJasReviews
