When I was down and blue I had a grudge against my fellow man I did not believe in forgiveness of any kind My heart was stone and sight was blind
One day my heart was full of pain and anguish I felt the devil has a rope tied around my neck Hang mans noose I had nothing to cut it loose My unforgiven sins were piling up
Like tomb stones in a grave yard But then the light of Christ came to me His light set me free and I was free indeed It broken the bonds to sin and death
I was going to live with eternity breath Long live the King of Kings And his name is Jesus Christ my King I will sing his praises till the day we meet On his judgment seat
I won a Poetry Challenge with this poem

I read comic books too. Wouldn't stake an afterlife on it though.
Myths taken seriously are a waste of time.
The earth is 6000 years old, women should not be heard, slavery is just, genocide is just, if you masturbate your going to hell, sodomy is daming (ever get a BJ? that's also sodomy, check your definitions), ever do ANY work on a sunday? etc. etc.. it's in your comic book... you better believe it. How do you people square whats in that book with your current position in life? Shouldn't you be taking back the holy land? Hypocritical buffet religion... my guess is that either you haven't read both testaments or you just plain don't get it. You're going to "hell" just like me... oh wait, hell was never mentioned in the bible.... EVER. You people fuggin baffle me... you don't even know the text you base your morality off of. Ugh.... but preach on regardless, plenty of morons out there to bleat along with you. bah bah dipshib
What an awesome poem and tribute our Lord and Savior! I really love the story of how when you were in dark times you kept a grudge only to find the light and be saved. It happens so many times where we lose sight of our faith and venture away even if momentarily. But He is always there, always by our side... waiting for us to open our eyes. Good work Jim!
A very spiritual insight is portrayed here. Love the message and the emphasis involved. There are a few tense errors and one stanza misplacement that distracts from the flow, but overall-well done. Thank you for sharing.
we all walk a path,it takes us all to a different place
moses walked around in a 40 mile radius for 40 years
a good point here smitty, but we all must walk our own path
God helps us all, so we must give him all we've got. We use those small moments to speak with him or try to go yo church. Nice poem! I really liked it :)
Well Smitty, you should have won - I loved it and read it aloud to my husband. It is beautiful. Praise God for you, your writings, all the kind people here and all of our blessings. I loved it all: but one of my favorites: Thank you so much! Dale - Just Glorious.
One day my heart was full of pain and anguish

Love it! This is a true testament to what Christ can do for anyone,
who will call upon him, ALL GLORY AND PRAISE BE TO CHRIST JESUS!
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
