Songs of SilenceA Poem by SmittyJasThe silence of loveI wrote many of letter of love Returned to me I didn't understand I put my best words of love To the test and lost her To a Wizard of romance That danced his way into her pants I was rejected Made me mad and resentful I called him out to the street It was less than a gunfight Just a wrestle in the mud Peaked everyones interest Brought everyone out too see the rumble Turn out to just be a tumble in the mud One fist one punch one T.K.O. Still I wrote her and my Love letters Have gotten returned to sender Address unknown No such woman living here Please don't call by phone Her orders to me were clear I lost my Girl over a bar fight That I did not win She was a beauty I had to give in But I kept on writing I never gave up on her love I known deep in her heart She had a spot for me I had to awaken that spot no matter how much it hurt me She had given her love before To me she surrendered her heart We shared a love so true I looked into her deep eyes of blue I known She thought of me the way I felt about her with love and desires that put our souls on fire To me she was heaven sent But now she was with another I felt naked and alone Without my friend by my side Yes that day I lost my pride.
