On a soft summer's Afternoon

On a soft summer's Afternoon

A Poem by SmittyJas
"

Strolling in the garden

"

Baseball was his game
He come out to play
with glove in hand
and a romance for the game

He paid attentation to his coaches
When he was on he mend
At bat he has his eye on the ball
Running the bases he touches them all

They taught him right in the instructional league
Coaches pitch to ball players is the only way
eight pitches then tee ball struck
Run the bases on bodies out

Every one seemed to have a smile on their faces
nothing could replace the smile on pa pa face
he was pleased to see his grandson play
baseball anyone who wants to play

Its an organized game of pickup ball
Neighborhood play neighborhood ball
Come on guys and dolls lets play ball
Umpires make all the calls

Such a sweet ode from a proud grandpa, I remember those afternoons with my three sons, brought back memories, what a cutie pie...
