Watching My Children Grow

Watching My Children Grow

A Story by SmittyJas

I love my children with all I got
every ounce full every drop
I gave to them all I got
From birth on up
I filled their cup
I looked with wonderment and amazing eyes
Daddy's two little girls A & B all grown up
I give all the respect a man can give
So they can go on living where they want to live
Their own life without interference
From Pa Pa or Dear Old dad
I love them the most I don't want to be a ghost
In there lives I want to be
In the background a loving father figure
That's all right by me
Life turns quickly it does not stand still
My Time is all I have to give you
And I don't want to waste time
Reach out a hand and grab mine
We'll walk into the sunset
Together you and I
Seeing God's blessed Sun fall from the sky
Giving off the Glow of the golden hour
Prefect photograph at the sunset hours
Hand in hand we walk along the beach
forgetting our mistakes along the way
remembering the truths we learned
From the golden sands
When I was a younger man
You were a sandy blond at age thirteen
A cute smile upon your face
went a long way to saving grace
Innocents sweet Innocents
Oh daughters of mine
I love you now as I loved you then
Nothing has changed but time
My unconditional love is still yours
Our hearts are bound
Like sand to a hour glass
and time flows on
