Heavy Metal Drummer

The song Heavy Metal Drummer by Wilco made me have a moment of clarity about someone.

"She fell in love with the drummer"

reverberated within my head

as your lips, faintly rose red,

sang Heavy Metal Drummer.

You performed on stage with ease

since singing was your expertise.

Your resonant voice repeated,

strong and unimpeded,

"She fell in love with the drummer."

The lyrics pounded through you;

all I could think of was that it wasn't true.

She did not fall in love with the drummer.

Before me was not the drummer,

but a talented young boy

emanating joy,

whose kisses I embraced

and whose eyes reflected grace.

You finished the song

and I clapped along.

Still, all I could think of,

while the last cheer lingered,

was that she didn't fall in love with the drummer.

She fell in love with the singer.

You strive for tranquility and yet you write about a drummer...hmm, how odd.
First things first; this is very well written, although at times I was a little confused. Don't worry about that, that's just me...a little dizzy headed.
Second; this sounds a lot like a rap song. Just throw in some bass, and some nifty drum beat, and there you go. Very good write.
