I've come to accept certain things.

I've come to accept certain things.

A Poem by Smitten Drive

I suppose I'll sit and listen to you,
Though my wants are way up in the blue.
Something stirs, shakes, spits.
Until I'm lost in dreams, liquor and s**t.
Someday soon, I know it will happen.
But I'll try my best to go out laughing.
Is wrong I expect what you're scared of thinking?
I think not, it's just expecting.

I've come to see and accept me for me.
I'll be lonely, poor, and full grief.
It's just that failure's better than nothing, you see?

Oh, I hope someday to see the sky.
A million new books by my side.
Music in my mind and love in my heart.
A beautiful girl, and beautiful harp.

You are the master of the kickass one liner. Lost in dreams, liquor and s**t. Solid imagery of despair, and I admire your articulation of it. Great work!

I can always spot places in which Conor Oberst has affected you.
