First Impressions

First Impressions

A Poem by SmileOfARebel

You remind me of someone I once knew
Butterflies fluttered inside, turning my emotions to mush--the same feeling being repeated over again
A fine fire ignited from within  fueled by the physical attraction
How could I resist?
The blistering embers in my shallow heart have yet to falter
I just wanted you and not another
Is this just a simple crush I'm going through?
Once upon time, I wanted to impress you to hold your hand in utmost bliss
Am I selfish for going for what  I desire?
It is you whom I admire the most
From inside you had that ambition, confidence, strive and smothering fire
Our eyes locked upon each other--a mental contact that gives me the chills
A gesture to fellow strangers
But what if the tension is real?
First impressions means much more than they originally seems
I know that you are still out there but can you notice me?
