English is British

English is British

A Poem by -Scribe in Style-
"

to end a year of English teaching

"

To Finish " English is British

My serious but sweet, one of a kind Awallah Alif,
You have reached to the peak of the cliff.

Bouncy and bubbly buzzing bees, of Awallah be,
You are a class that comes about very rare.
Teaching you English has been a pleasure,
I hope in your paper up to the mark you measure.

For the expression of majesty and glory of His Holiness,
We study the language, literature and its meaningfulness;
To communicate proudly with other communities,
And the people who call themselves dignitaries;
To understand their speech and what they preach,
But most importantly in Maula’s Khidmat and service

This English boundary and barrier we must breach.

This year’s English course has now been completed,
Reading, comprehension, grammar and writing targeted.
With the poetry and stories I hope your minds stay inspired,
And pray that His Holiness’ happiness we have acquired.
For all the mistakes, unintended, that have come to pass,
In my teaching or your learning in the hours of English class,
I pray for forgiveness with sincere and utmost humbleness,
And may those thoughts be eliminated into obliviousness.

Now a lil’ personal message from me to you:

I’m sure it feels like just yesterday, when you came here and it was your very first day,
You were taking the admission test and not worrying about anything else.
And since now it’s the end of your very first year, your minds have gone into fear.
There is a jumble of cookie crumble because across a ‘sea of knowledge’ you have stumbled.
One step at a time, one line at a time, one subject at a time, Just like this quick rhyme -
Study and revise with your heart and soul and the exam period will feel like a

slow and steady, surprisingly splendid Sunday stroll.

Close your eyes and you will see His illuminating smiling face,
You are within Burhanuddin and Saifuddin’s bounty and grace,
For a year He has taught you and trained you, And in this period he will uplift and raise you.

May you succeed in this Imtehaan and enjoy your holidays with itminaan
