Puzzle that was Me

Puzzle that was Me

A Poem by Andromeda
"

inspired by American Pie by Don Mclean

"

American Pie

Was the honest lie

That made her cry

That made her sigh

Hallelujah goodbye.

And that was that,

And this was this,

And perhaps we’ll see,

Someday we all will be

The ones who hold the key

To the puzzle that was me

As we sing

Hallelujah goodbye

Loud from east to west,

Quick from better to best

Unless we’ll end

Before we mend

The looks we send

The words we bend

Hallelujah goodbye

And that was that,

And this was this,

And bend to break,

Before we think to make

The lives that are at stake,

Words: those were never fake.

Hallelujah goodbye

And was it all only a wish?

Never a chance—all only a wish?

American Pie

Was the honest lie

That made her cry

That made her sigh

Hallelujah goodbye.
